Bob is CEO of Jacquart Fabric Products and serves as the executive director of the Copper Peak Organizing Committee. He has become the public face of the renewed effort to return Copper Peak to its rightful place as the home of competitive ski flying in the western hemisphere. A serial entrepreneur and tireless advocate of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Bob joined his father’s fabric manufacturing business in 1983 and has carefully crafted a vision that has turned into the company, Jacquart Fabric Products, from a small custom sewing shop to a formal production operation with technical expertise across a diverse set of product lines, including the iconic Stormy Kromer brand, which he acquired in 2001. With his daughters by his side and managing critical areas of the day-to-day business management and operations, Bob is able to dedicate significant time to the most important project of his life: re-establishing Copper Peak as a FIS sanctioned ski flying facility. Bob believes Copper Peak is a secret weapon that can turn the world’s attention to Michigan’s scenic Upper Peninsula. The goal is to attract visitors who will fall in love with the UP’s unique lifestyle, reinvigorate the area’s talent base, and spur business investment in the region.
