Morgan has served as treasurer of the Copper Peak Board since 2001. With his wife, Linda, they own and operate the Indianhead Motel in Ironwood, Michigan, as 25 unit motel that includes three adjacent rental houses. For more than 25 years, his responsibilities have spanned managing reservations, front desk operations, business finances, marketing and maintenance. Morgan’s responsibilities include managing Copper Peak’s finances including the facilities P&L. He has volunteered countless hours to the facility including maintenance on Copper Peak’s grounds, jump structure and visitor’s chalet. He has served on the board of the SISU Ski Fest, a premier non-profit cross country ski and snowshoe event since it’s inception in 2010. Morgan serves as that organization’s treasurer and chief of registration which includes managing the incoming registrations, wave placements, ordering race supplies, coordination with the timing company to insure accurate results and distributing awards. Other relevant experience includes: serving as a founding member, the secretary, and a member of the executive committee for the Ni-Miikanaake Chapter of the North Country Trail Association, which maintains more than 50 miles of the longest scenic hiking trail in the country including the section of the trail that runs near Copper Peak; director and treasurer for the Friends of the Miners Memorial Park, a 160 acre green space and memorial to the local mining history located in the heart of the City of Ironwood which maintains the park’s walking, cross country and snowshoe trails. Morgan is a member of the Ironwood Tourism Council and the Western Upper Peninsula Convention and Visitors Bureau.
