Michael is a member of the Copper Peak Board of Directors and has served as a legal advisor since 2009. A retired State Trial Court Judge for the State of Michigan, Michael currently serves as a mediator with the Upper Peninsula Commission for the Area Progress Resolutions Services Program. He is a former ski jumper. As past president of the Iron Mountain/Kingsford Kiwanis Service Club, he was in charge of organizing volunteers who assisted in the World Cup Ski Jumping Tournament at Pine Mountain. Michael also served as a prosecuting attorney and Dickinson County Corporation Counsel for eight years. Upon graduation from the Univeristy of Minnesota Law School, he was an associate in the firm of McNeil, Mouw and Torreano engaged in litigation and business law. He holds a MBA from Colorado State University (Beta Sigma Gamma Academic). He has served on numerous non=profit boards as president and legal advisor including Menominee River Habitat for Humanity, Western Upper Peninsula Mediation, Caring House Domestic Violence Shelter and church related organizations.
