Jim joined the Copper Peak Board of Directors in 2010 to help bring ski flying back to the Upper Peninsula because he believes the venue can help invigorate and promote the area. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology with a minor in Materials and Materials Processes from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Jim is co-owner of Eagle Bluff Golf Course in Hurley, WI and Stempihar, Inc. in Bessemer, MI; president and majority owner of A&J Fuel Products, Inc., and Northern Window and Door, LLC. Jim is also Chairperson of the Carey Town Board and a member of the Downtown Development Authority for the City of Bessemer. Both Jim and his business partner are active in the community donating time, money and gifts to a host of organizations, including Copper Peak, Ironwood Oval Racing, Snow Cross Racing, Gogebic County Fair, White Thunder Riders Snowmobile Trail Groomers, Gogebic Range Trail Authority, Ironwood Festival, Bessemer Fourth of July, Pumpkin Fest, Marty’s Goldenaires and others. Jim is currently leading Copper Peak’s Construction Committee, tasked with the immense project of revitalizing the facilities to once again host international competitions.
