Copper Peak Update

To the Copper Peak Community,

We know you’ve been patiently waiting for an update on Copper Peak’s revitalization project. We heard you, and it’s important to us to keep our community informed about the progress of the project.

As you may recall, Copper Peak opened up bids for the landing hill portion of the project this past spring after receiving a generous $20 million grant from the State of Michigan. However, the submitted bids exceeded the allocated budget by a substantial margin. Unexpected factors, including elevated costs, supply chain difficulties, and the impact of inflation, have required Copper Peak to reevaluate both the project timeline and overall budget. We are committed to securing the additional funds needed while ensuring that the existing grant funds are used as expected.

In the meantime, we hope to complete engineering for the tower renovations and other infrastructure by mid-November, with bids to go out shortly thereafter. Our goal is to break ground in spring 2024 with a target completion in fall 2025. We look forward to this moment for our region and the entire ski jumping community.

We deeply appreciate your continued enthusiasm and support for this project, and we’re excited to share our journey with you. In the coming weeks and months, we will post updates as they are available on our website (www.copperpeak.com) and in our new newsletter (sign up here). All of us at Copper Peak are grateful for our local, state, and ski jumping communities’ support; we can’t wait to jump to new heights and beyond along with all of you.
